About Theta Health Extension
Theta Health Extension is the world’s first HIPAA-compliant health data AI extension (MCP), available for use in Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatWise, and ChatGPT Business. It transforms your AI into a personal health expert.
Once installed in Claude Desktop, Claude can provide personalized health insights based on your health data. Simply sync and upload your health reports to Theta Health Drive—you control which files are accessible. This allows Claude to offer tailored, context-aware health guidance.
Install Theta Health Extension in Claude Desktop
Ensure Claude Desktop is open before starting.
Step 1: Download Theta Health Extension
Visit thetahealth.ai/mcp, then click Download in the navigation bar to get the extension file: theta-health.dxt.
Step 2: Install on Claude Desktop
Double-click the downloaded file. Claude Desktop will automatically launch, install Theta Health Extension, and direct you to the Claude Extensions page. Click Install to finish setup.
Step 3: Ask Health Questions
Start chatting! Ask any health-related question in Claude. The first time you do it, Claude will ask permission to use the extension—select Allow always or Allow once.
If no health data is uploaded yet, Claude will guide you to sign up or sign in to Theta Health Drive. Just follow the steps to complete your upload.
Your health data remains secure, private, and under your control at all times.

Claude can answer general health questions without your data, but personalized insights (e.g. based on your labs, allergies, or conditions) require uploading health reports to Theta Health Drive.
